Round Rock is a great place to work, live and play. Almost 100,000 people call this once, sleepy town home. There is alot to do and see here. There is major shopping with IKEA, Premier Outlet Mall, La Frontera, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Sam's, HEB Plus (our wonderful grocery stores), Kohls, Hobby Lobby, Office Max, Office Depot, Petsmart, Petsco and just about anything else you could ask for.
Originally, Round Rock was named after John Chisholm, it was a major trail and train depot where settlers and travelers alike would stop for the night. Then, notably it became the Chisholm Trail and renamed Round Rock. Yes, there really is a round rock which can be seen in Brushy Creek right off of IH 35.
Back when the west was wild, we are known for the Sam Bass Bank Robbery (which didn't go so well.) Sam Bass is buried in one of the older cemetaries in town. And Brushy Creek still bears the ruts from the wagon wheels and can be seen in the rocks near the Round Rock. We are a city of much history.
Round Rock is also home to the Dell Diamond, the 5 A ball club, sister to the Houston ball club owned by Nolan Ryan. Dell Computers is one of the main reasons Round Rock has grown so much in the last 5 - 10 years. Their main headquarters is stationed here.
